We looked into our locations for that we could use for our film campaign.
The following images would be used during the shots of the nerd changing his image, to reach a social height.
The use of the changing room would replicate the real life, thus making it seem more believable and therefore the audience would appreciate this more for physical narrative, due to looking at professional shots using actual locations, illustrated in sequences on films such as the scene in "Mean Girls" to which they buy the products to make the main antagonist look bad.

Mean Girls:
This location would be used during the shot of the school lifestyle, when the main protagonist is getting bullied. This shot would probably only last for a couple of seconds in the trailer, as school locations aren't used a lot in professional films.
In saying this, for our narrative the school library location would be used as it does fit to the narrative and in "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" there is a shot of him walking into the school building. As it would be hard to do replica of a school/college library because it would need to look professional and due to a lack of budget we can use the actual library to which we have access to.

Locations for Potential Streets:
This could be the local shop of which the protagonists use. If used, it probably would only last for up to two shots as this location is not particularly necessary in carrying the narrative forward and isn't really significant in the storyline plot. These shots would probably be used to reinforce the bullying the protagonists receive. To use this shot, we will have to request permission for the access of this location. The idea of using a local shop as a location came about from the T.V comedy drama series Shameless as our film uses everyday locations which are similar to Shameless.
Below is the local shop used in Shameless.

The next locations are just potential streets in which the protagonist would live. These locations would predominantly be used to accompany the beginning sequence of the film trailer as these location play little significance in the storyline.
This park is just a potential location as our group have yet to decide whether this location would be used. If so, the location will probably be insignificant to the storyline so wouldn't be necessary to use this location. To use this location, we will have to make sure the park is empty due to it being a public place and may become to crowded.
This location plays a significant part in our film trailer as the main protagonist will be further bullied here. The plot in this storyline is almost certain to be used in our trailer therefore this location will probably be used as well. However, it may be difficult for this location to be used as this road can be very busy. We may decide on moving the location to a more safer, less busy place which will make sure we can get the shot right.

The above pictures are potential locations that i thought would be useful and we would use in our trailer. I understand that these are taken in and around our college which is possibly the worst place to film our trailer, but it is pretty much impossible to have a film trailer about our narrative without having at least one school location, therefore i thought that using our college would be the best location for one of these.
All of these are easily accessed and able to gain access to, meaning it will be easy to films here and we will not need any special permissions.
Some of these location were inspired by locations featured in other films and film trailers. For example, in the trailer for Drillbit Taylor, there are a lot of locations, and two of these include locations in and around a school and they work very effectively in making the trailer and film look realistic and add to the comic affect, in particular the corridor shots.
why are you using the library?????
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know where the inspiration for these locations came from please and I'd also, like to see some comparison images from researched texts. Disucss these locations how do they fit with the genre? mimick the textual analysis?
who took them? could you do a video discussion?
