Evaluation Question Two- Emily O'Hara
How effective is the combination of your main task and ancillary tasks?
In terms of our three products they work well together. These follow the conventions of other packages, to which I found in the summer research. The use of the other products just further promote the initial trailer and draw in the audience, as illustrated in our feedback.
Possibly in more time we would further promote it in the below ways of what usually happens:

These ideas have been followed from other products which been successful in the other types of marketing techniques.
Above is a moodboard for the marketing campaign of the film "Drillbit Taylor". In this campaign there are things such as posters, magazine covers, tee shirts, DVD's, websites and much more.
Delving into the website there is a little "Survival Guide" which consumers can buy. This would be a good idea for our products also because then we could target the younger audience by the fact it is a toy and would interest them.
To adapt this for ours, we could probably mimick the idea of the geeks and maybe a guide for "Geek 101" which could be all the ways in how to be a true geek or a how to avoid this geek stereotype and make it to the top.
These are little ideas that are out there that just bring in further revenue and could be interlinked into our own projects too.

Weekly Update 13
In this week we mainly reflected upon what we've already done and improved certain aspects of our work, so it was fresh in our mind for the evaluations.
We got given our evaluation questions this week also and the group have started to individually work on this.
Our products are intended to be finished next week.

Weekly Update 12
In this week we continued on with the soundtracks putting them together and finishing them off so that they match with the trailer and can just be added when the sections are all added together.
We had two film sessions this week where we did some re shooting and getting the final pieces in the first and then got the final bit of the montage sequence in the second. Both of the film sessions went well and hopefully shouldn't have to be re-shot.
We also started to put all of the sequences into one finished trailer to which we can then just add the soundtrack to it. After looking at the length we may have quite a long trailer, however as a group we decided to do the full theatrical trailer as opposed to doing a teaser trailer so it should hopefully fit well.
Looking at our schedule we should be finished our print production, however as we haven't we plan to do it as fast as we can to the best of our ability and then concentrate on evaluations at a later stage.
Next week we anticipate to have our work complete with a photo shoot and all and then whilst working on evaluations get audience feedback so we can adapt our products through the process.

Filming Session 7
In this filming session we filmed the geeks "learning the moves" so the second year teaching them how to dance and then some chat up lines.
Filming Session 6
In this session we filmed the last bits of the beginning of the trailer where the geeks ask for assistance off the second year to make them look cool.
We also did the opening sequence entering the common room and being laughed at, to which we can use right at the beginning.
As some of our shots from our first shoot didn't go to plan as well as they should, we decided to do some re-shooting as well in this session.

Weekly Update 11
In this week we continued to make up the magazine cover, by just making sure that everything was in the right place and the colours were all correct and ready for the photo shoot.
After not being able to find any copyright free music, we started to make soundtracks on Garage Band for each of the sections of the trailer. This was after our sound research us knowing that we have to use different styles of songs for each individual part.
We also filmed the missing sections of our trailer. This involved the shots where the geeks were being bullied in day to day life, in a variety of ways.

Filming Session 5
In this session we decided to complete the missing parts of the beginning sequence that we didn't have as yet. This involved the geeks being bullied in a quick montage of shots to which will be used after the common room shot.

Weekly Update 10
After the reflections over half term and the deadlines of rough cuts, to which did not go ahead due to missing footage we planned to make sure we had everything organised this week.
We decided to make sure we had as much as we could for the 3 montages, knowing they would be a large bulk of the trailer.
On Monday this began with the creating of intertitles, to give an animation effect of the text moving on the page and getting clearer and more defined. As there wasn't a specific intertitle for this we created one ourselves using a pad of paper, pens and a still camera taking shots. At the first attempt it didn't work as well so we decided to re-do the three because the angling wasn't staying the same, so we set it up as a tripod.
On Wednesday I had got in contact with a local charity shop to see if it was possible to film their changing room the geeks trying on different "cool" outfits on in a montage of shots, like the same concept for the getting tougher in the gym.
We then filmed in our media lesson on the Thursday further footage of the geeks getting tougher by filming in the park the pair jogging, to which we could edit into the previous montage.
On Friday we edited the footage of the two montages that had been filmed so far into one sequence. This involved the rough edited footage being made more defined and added together.
Also on Friday we made up the magazine front cover mock-up, minus the image of the main character. This involved organising the general layout of where the text would all go. This will be tweaked next week and hopefully have photos taken for the next session.
We then as a group discussed what shots we needed to get for the trailer, to which Jake made a short video outlining each of these. We hope to get these done next week alongside a photoshoot in hope we can air our project as a mock up to get feedback from our audience.
In terms of the soundtrack we are in the process of getting copyright free music already, however if that fails we plan to create a soundtrack on Garage Band to go over our montages and opening shots.

Fiming Session 4
Wednesday 2nd November
In this session we filmed in a local charity shop to get the shots of the characters changing their image to make themselves look cooler.
The filming went relatively well and we managed to get the shots we needed, not to mention they had the element of professionalism because it was and actual shop experience.

Filming Session 3
Wednesday 2nd November
In this filming session we shot the extra bits of the getting tougher of the geeks in the eyes of the public getting tougher by jogging and such like.
The session went well as we managed to get the quiet aspect at the time when the park wasn't busy so we could get nice clear shots and the weather was looking better than previously in the week.
What made it easier was the cooperation of the cast (as usual).
