Basically, the storyline follows two males who have their dream job, working for a film company and living off the large blockbusters that they’ve already made and haven’t actually done any “work” as such for a few years- but life is easy for them still.
Suddenly it changes for them when one day they both get called into an office and they get explained to them that they no longer are contributing to the label and unless they release a new film they’re out of the job. What makes this worse is they get a deadline of 6 months to do it, which is fairly impossible.
After a series of lack of hope and freaking out over the lack of time, they begin the project; following the entire process of film making with horrible casting auditions, stressful storyboarding when not agreeing on any chosen narrative and the stress of organising the marketing.
All seems to be going well until a press release for the film and one of them takes credit for the production, despite the majority of work being either agreed together or made by the other. This causes a dispute, making the discredited one storm out and abandons the project.
After deciding to continue the work alone, the credited one keeps going and suddenly begins to realise the great struggle of the workload and goes and apologises to the other one. After declining the apology the credited one tries everything to get the other one back, but nothing seems to work.
It takes another character, who is interlinked with the pair of them and who has been helping in the whole process too, to get the pair back together and working after speaking to the discredited one and convincing that the project is flummoxing without them.
With the project back on track they have merely a month left before they have to showcase it to an audience, and the executives of the label who will review it, in light of their jobs.
On the night of the showcase the two of them take their seats, alongside the others and the film is previewed. They are given a week to get the feedback after the showcase.
One week later, they meet back up at the office, waiting for the new. Outside the office the two have a heart to heart moment, sharing that no matter what they had fun for the whole project. They get called into the office and after moments where it seems they have done badly, it turns out they passed and are both back in their secure jobs.
To finish they walk away and ask “So, what should we do next?”

My idea is not as detailed as Emily's, but i feel that there is enough detail to help understand what the film would look like and how to the storey unfold.
Basically, my first the idea follows a comedy-Social realism style story line which basically follows a character 'a day in the life of..' Where the character, in this case, is a the bottom of the social ladder and wants to climb up to reach the top, not only for himself, but for all social rejects who get bullied etc. It is a typical story line which has been inspired by such films as diary of a wimpy kid.
It would start following this social reject and two of his friends having a bad day, with simple things like missing the school bus and having to walk in the rain, dropping books all over etc. i feel that there would be a lot of fast shots of bad things happening 'throughout the day' of the main character to show how the character is really at the bottom of the social ladder. There would also be serious implications of bullying which could show how this can affect people in the real life. One idea i had was that the main characters mother or father or both had passed away and in one scene, he is picked on for that fact, in contrast to many of the comic/slap stick style 'bullying' shots. This would inject some seriousness into the film which would help the audience relate to the film and the character.
After the 'parents death' scene, the character would like to change, they feel it is time to stand up for themselves and take a stand for who they are. QWe would then follow the character in his 'adventure' which would include a lot of comedy scenes, like humiliating the bullies in several ways, embarrassing himself and failing at his attempts, i am not sure which ending would work better, whether he makes it to the top or whether he fails in his attempt leaving it at a sad ending, however i feel that a comedy should not end this way.
Another idea i had followed more of a chick-flick comedy style. It is the story of typical girly girls who have been spoiled by their parents, get what they want and when they want. After a family dispute, they are sent to a 'camp' where they live the life of simple folk, doing activities which then wouldn't even dare consider, such as camping in rainy, muddy fields, fishing, worming and getting generally into situations every spoilt girl would never dream of. there would be a lot of typical girly 'OH NO!'s where maybe a character has chipped a nail, pulled a hair out etc. This conforms to very stereotypical girls, but i think comedies are at their best when the characters are over the top and played very physically to show they are beyond normal which adds excitement and more humour into the film.

Thomas:
My proposed storyline follows the Rom-Com of having a male and female beginning as friends but grow closer throughout the plot, eventually falling in love with each other. This is a typical outline of a Rom-Com style film, having the storyline focus greatly on romance with humour attached to awkward situations in relationships.
The overview of my narrative is that both protagonists have recently been dumped by their partners. Each being annoyed with the opposite sex and refuse to let them control their feelings once again. They both decide to have relationships but with no strings attached, this begins when both characters are invited to a party by a mutual friend.
At the party, each character begins to survey potential partners with their group of friends. Both protagonists are picked by the opposite groups which leads to the protagonists beginning to talk to one another.
The male protagonist decides to invite the female protagonist over to help advance their relationship. However, many awkward moments arise which leads to the male character not being able to do his intention with the female character. They both become frustrated with the female character immediately leaving.
The next day, both protagonists begin to let their frustrations with their group of friends who inturn reveals advice in what the protagonists should do in their situations. The male character decides to apologise for the awkwardness before, the female character accepts but wants him to impress her in their next meeting.
The male character decides to take her to the beach and they each go into the sea but the male relives his past experience of having a fear of sharks which leads to the female character taking advantage of this by pinching his leg which ultimatley leads him to become unstable and he runs for out the sea. He later sees the funny side of this circumstance.
Whilst sat at the beach, they decide to discuss where their relationship is at. They reveal that they have feelings for one another, but nothing happens as a result.
It's been a week since they last saw one another, the female chracter asks to meet up at the park which he agrees to do so. Whilst at the park, the male character's ex who dumped him at the beginning takes notice of the female character and begins to act friendly towards them however says an inappropraite comment to the female character which leads to her firing back insults. Both female character begin squabble with the male character shockingly standing there watching whilst they fight like children. the male character eventuall puts an end to the fight by grabbing both their ears and making them apologise to each other. The male character's ex then leaves. The two protagonists walk in the other direction.
He walks the female protagonist to her house and this is where they share their first kiss, but they begin to laugh. They try again and succeed.
They each tell their friends whats currently happening in their relationship and reveal that hey are actually falling for each other. Both group of friends resent this and remind them of their planned intentions but the protagonists seem unable to carry this out.
The female character decides to head over the male's house and again reveal her true feelings. She arrives and knocks on the door but over hears the male group conversation. The male character answers the door to a disgusted female who slaps him then leaves. He begins to pursuit her but his words seem to unfaze her as she carries on leaving and not looking back.
The male character attempts many times to contact her but with no success. One of his male friends realise the state he is in and decides to influence the female character into giving him a second chance. She thinks about the pros and cons of her relationship with the male character and decides to agree to meet up with him. She contacts him asking to meet up at the park, desperate, he agrees.
Upon arrival at the park, she reveals her intentions of what she wanted from the relationship which leads to both protagonists laughing at their expenses. They resume their relationship and officially announce their relationship to their friends.
