Weekly Update 8

This week gave us a great step in the professionalism in our filming when Jake came up with an idea to source a gym for the section of our trailer when the geeks are getting tougher so on Wednesday we went out to the gym and filmed the two geek characters "getting tougher".

The footage was then edited together so we could go over what we had done in that session and show each of the parts going together.

We then continued to work individually on our posters for the bits to which we hadn't yet finished.

As the week after was half term, we didn't devise an exact plan of what to film as we later found out one of our main characters was unable to film. However over half term we decided we would all work seperately to make sure we had everything complete.

Filming Session 2- Wednesday 19th October

This is the footage we took on Wednesday the 19th of October at the Dolphin Centre Gym.
We did get filming permission to film there after ringing up on the grounds that we provided a detailed risk assessment and that we acknowledged that if something were to happen to equipment, actors or filmers, it was not up to them to resolve it or pay.
We also had to ensure that were did not get any of the public in shot sand if we did, we had to make sure that it was ok with them to be in shot, everyone potential person in the gym we thought may be in shot, we made aware of our filming and got permission to use the footage if they were in it.

Filming Session 2

On the second session we hope to continue filming as we did and get more shots for the next stages of the geek process. This would involve the 3 aspects of change hopefully (changing image, getting sportier and then getting females).

At this point we may also try to get our photo shoot done for the magazine and for each of the posters.

We were lucky enough in this session to manage to get access to a gym at The Dolphin Centre, after Jake rang up and asked the permission to film a couple of shots doing the various comedy style work outs. This gave us a perfect location to film in an environment that is actually there.

Weekly Update 7

In this week we began officially our print project.

This began with us first of all on the Monday and Tuesday (whilst our actors were unavailable) to set up our individual posters as a basic layout for the print project on photoshop. This involved sorting out the text or extra graphical elements, all except the main characters on the screen.

On the Wednesday we began filming. In this session we filmed the two geeks being approached by the second year in the way that he had agreed to help them. For the rest of the week it was mainly looking over this footage and then creating a clip of the session.

We also planned for the next filming sessions to make sure that they were all organised and the cast knew what was happening.

Filming Session 1- Monday 17th

Here is most of the relevant footage that we had captured during our first filming session on Monday the 14th.
Included, are the shots of the bully helping the Geek, the geeks reaction, the bully telling the geeks he'll help them and the geeks reaction to confronting the bully about help.

Monday 17th October 2011:

Intentions:

On this session we have all of our cast together as a way in which to make sure we have everything we need for it to work properly and we have all the correct forms and such.

On this day we plan to try to film as much as possible. This is involving all of the background shots, such as the geeks being bullied and the build up to the storyline. This sets up the main outline of the trailer and something we can use as the foundations.

Whilst the group is together, we may also try to do our photo shoot with them, this will make it easier and utilise our resources to the maximum potential.

We planned to start filming on Wednesday 12th of October, we had got a camera hired and had arranged to meet the Cat to start filming for our first draft of the trailer, however only two members of the cast were present, Myself with costumer, and Joey Collins with no costume.

Due to this, we had to cancel filming and have scheduled to meet cast and start filming on Monday 17th of October.
